Two golf courses are available in Alnmouth, the original golf course, which had 18 holes, was formed in 1869. The course was designed and created by famous golf professional Mungo Park, making it the second oldest course in England. At a later date it was split into two courses, Alnmouth Village Golf Club, a fine nine hole course adjacent to the beach, this links course having one hill and the view from the 7th is outstanding. There is also Alnmouth Golf Club, a challenging 18 hole course with an excellent layout and panoramic views, the course being located at nearby Foxton Hall.
